Job Description

The SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) Consultant will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of SAP APO solutions, including demand planning, supply network planning, production planning, and detailed scheduling. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SAP APO modules and a strong understanding of supply chain processes and best practices.

Job Summary: 

The SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) Consultant will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of SAP APO solutions, including demand planning, supply network planning, production planning, and detailed scheduling. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SAP APO modules and a strong understanding of supply chain processes and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Implementation:
    • Lead or participate in the implementation of SAP APO projects.
    • Conduct requirements gathering sessions and workshops with business stakeholders to understand their planning needs.
    • Design and configure SAP APO modules including DP (Demand Planning), SNP (Supply Network Planning), PP/DS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling), and GATP (Global Available to Promise).
  2. System Configuration:
    • Customize and configure SAP APO to meet business requirements.
    • Ensure seamless integration with other SAP modules such as SAP ECC (ERP Central Component), SAP BW (Business Warehouse), and SAP SCM (Supply Chain Management).
  3. Support and Maintenance:
    • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for SAP APO-related issues.
    • Perform system enhancements and updates to improve functionality and performance.
    • Conduct regular system audits and health checks to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Training and Documentation:
    • Develop and deliver training materials and sessions for end-users and key stakeholders.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and custom developments.
  5. Stakeholder Management:
    • Collaborate with business users, IT teams, and external partners to ensure alignment and integration of SAP APO solutions.
    • Provide expert advice and support during project go-lives and post-implementation phases.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP APO implementation and support.
    • Proven experience in at least 3 full lifecycle SAP APO implementation projects.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong understanding of SAP APO modules and supply chain planning processes.
    • Proficiency in SAP APO configuration, customization, and integration.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Knowledge of S/4HANA and IBP (Integrated Business Planning) is a plus.
